Shyness of a turtle
The video work “Stop the Destiny” describes one of the members' attempt to overcome his “destiny” regarding his origins, by comparing it to an episode of Zeno's paradox “Achilles and the Tortoise”.
Produced in 2014, this work was born from the thought that by imaginatively “quitting” an uncontrollable destiny, one can start walking forward again.
Ten years have passed since then. How have we faced our destiny?
This time, we exhibit “Stop the Destiny” and the new work “Stop Shyness” together, confronting “time” and “irreversibility of human beings,” as we face the days that have passed and the works that can only be created at that time.
By the way, where did the turtle 10 years back go?
Nobody knows.
If we fail to find the turtle, we cannot pass it, so we have to find it somehow.
This is the “turtle hunt,” and it may be our chance to once again defy destiny. In addition, you may be able to stop being shy. This work was created with the simple wish that “we all live in harmony and look forward to the future.
