    Blue -alter edtion-

Bluegill, once called “prince fish” and expected to be so, are now designated as an alien species and are subject to extermination. “Blue” was created based on the story of bluegill.
Now, Blue visualizes the crisis of biodiversity in the rich natural environment of Yambaru. The images will be projected from the Yambaru Art Festival site, located next to Shioya Bay, using the blue ocean as a borrowed scenery.
The work symbolically tells the story of the irreversible impact of human activities on nature, centering on the prosperity of bluegill, which spread throughout Japan from just 15 fish, and the changes it brought about in the ecosystem. More than just a story of a single species, this work asks us to imagine the importance of preserving biodiversity and the questions that need to be asked in order to build a sustainable society here in Okinawa.
