PROFILE
Kijoka Bashofu (Kijoka Banana fiber cloth), which carries on the tradition of Bashofu, was designated as a National Important Intangible Cultural Asset in 1974. The Kijoka Bashofu Cooperative Association was established in 1984. At the Bashofu House, which is operated and managed by the association, visitors can see how the bashofu is made.
