Ken Sugawara
PROFILE
Born in Osaka. After graduating from Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, he studied ceramics at Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Art School. After working at a Kiyomizu-yaki pottery, he worked at Yomitanzan-yaki Kitagama (Yomitanzan-yaki North Kiln) "Yoneshi Kobo." In 2013, he became independent and moved to Ogimi Village. He uses the traditional "kick wheel" to make pottery at "Kyuren Gama (Nine kilns in a row)," a communal kiln in Ogimi Village.
