    Forest of Agu

Okinawa's tree landscape was created over millions of years.
However, due to wars, postwar modernization, and resort development, the number of non-native tree species has increased, and the original Okinawan landscape has decreased.
This year's work is about having the "children who will build the future" plant young trees in Okinawa, creating the Okinawan landscape with their own hands and watching over it from generation to generation.
Just as the agu, once nearly extinct, has made a comeback, a large acow tree will sit atop this statue of an agu 40 years from now.
