ART PROGRAM
Fuyuka Shindo
North/South
Hokkaido and Okinawa, located at the northern and southern ends of the Japanese archipelago, stand as witnesses to the shifts of time and encounters with diverse cultures due to their proximity to neighboring countries.
As peripheral regions, they continually engage with various influences, undergo transformations, generate new layers, and radiate in manifold directions.
We are pleased to introduce Fuyuka Shindo from Hokkaido and Linda Iha from Okinawa.
Shindo's work will be centered on the fabric works from her solo exhibition "Sewing Memories" held at Hokkaido University in 2021, while Iha will compose the space with her photographic work "Nowhere," which was shot in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa.
